Sun Valley is a community nestled in a picturesque valley located approximately two miles north of Reno in Washoe County, 10.3 miles in size with over 16,000 residents. Of the 5,900 residences in Sun Valley, about 70% are manufactured homes and the remaining 30% are wood framed single family homes. The Sun Valley community is growing at a modest rate each year including commercial and retail establishments.
 
About Sun Valley Nevada

Sun Valley was founded by .... in 1945 to accommodate the returning war veterans. Sun Valley has provided quality affordable housing for the past 65 year. We are the 5th largest unincorporated area in the state.

The Sun Valley Citizens Advisory Board meets 9:00 AM the Second Saturday of each month, 115 West 6th Ave-at the Sun Valley Neighborhood center (behind the pool and next to the post office).

The Sun Valley General Improvement District meets the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month at 6:00 PM. 5000 Sun Valley Blvd.

The Sun Valley Landowners and Residents Association meets the 1st and 3rd Wednesday at 6:00 PM of every month. 5360 Sun Valley Blvd. The Sun Valley Landowners building was constructed in 1944 on land given by the Gepford Family. From 1975 until 2005, Washoe County leased the building to house the Sun Valley Senior Center. The building continues to be run by a board which oversees the Food Pantry. The Association holds events such as bingo and has the hall available for party rentals and flea markets. If you would like to become a member call 673-1661

PLAY BINGO

Bingo Games are held at the Sun Valley Landowners/Residents Association at 5360 Sun Valley Blvd. Games are held from 7pm to 9pm on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month.

FOOD RESOURCES

The Food Bank of Northern Nevada and the Hope Nazarene Church are offering a mobile food pantry every Monday at 2:30 p.m. The church is located at 205 W. Gepford Parkway (Gepfod & Slope). For low income families with children under age six or low income seniors.
